Blessing of the Fleet
Come take part in our annual Blessing Of The Fleet event on May 28th in Alder Point. Parade of antique cars will leave the church and proceed to the beach at 1:30, followed by local entertainment, activities, and food and treats to buy. Blessing of the boats will take place at 2:00. Registration for junior sail at Northern Yacht Club in North Sydney will take place from 6-9 pm on the ground floor of the main clubhouse on 31 May. Griefshare, a special help seminar and support group for people experiencing grief and loss, will be held on Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM for 13 weeks in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 8 Marconi St, Glace Bay beginning March 30th. On June 2nd, Bay It Forward's Fundraising committee will be holding a fundraiser at TALO Cafebar in Glace Bay. Bay It Forward is Glace Bay's community development organization. From this fundraiser, we are planning to fund future community projects that support entrepreneurship, community markets, branding, and youth engagement activities. Sydney, N.S. — The 13th annual Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run, organized by the Cape Breton Fiddlers Run, is in full swing and set to take place on Saturday, June 3rd at the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion. The ALS WalkStrong 2017 walk will be held Saturday June 3/17 at the New Waterford Fire Hall.
