The Public Health Mobile Unit is holding an Immunization Clinic for all ages on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Canadian Coast Guard College, 1190 Westmount Road, Sydney. The vaccines being offered are the Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) and Varicella (chickenpox) vaccines, Tetanus/Diphtheria and whooping cough vaccine and to those eligible, the RSV, Shingles, Pneumonia, spring Covid vaccines and HPV and Men-B vaccines. Saturday, May 2nd: Hannah Krebs teaches local Gaelic songs from 2-4pm. Sunday, May 3rd: "Celtic Spring Family Concert" featuring Local Talent and starting at 2pm. Join in a family fun event at Wentworth Park Saturday May 16th/2026. The fishing derby is for children 15 and under and is organized by Cape Breton Island Wildlife association in Partnership with CBRM, NS Department of Inland Fisheries, Nova Scotia Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Unama ki Institute of Natural Resources and Department of Natural Resources. Prizes awarded for the largest fish. The event runs from 10 Am until 2PM. Registration is at the Byng Ave entrance.
