Eastlink is making a $6.5-million investment in high-speed Internet for rural areas, mainly in Cape Breton.
CEO Lee Bragg said during a news conference Thursday the money is being split between upgrades to the company’s fibre-optic Internet and improvements to its rural broadband network.
About $5.5 million will be used to improve access to the company’s fibre Internet in Inverness, Mabou, Judique, Port Hood and Port Hastings.
