The McNeil Government outlined its plans for the fall session of the legislature in the Throne Speech yesterday, according to the Canadian Press.
It has measures to strengthen the protection of pension benefits, improve accessibility for those with disabilities; and provide more help for those seeking child support payments.
It also promises that the testing fee for taking the G-E-D will be dropped and that first-time homebuyers will get help through a down payment assistance pilot program.
There is also a promise to create a new body called “Research Nova Scotia” that will combine the existing provincial research bodies into one entity.
