Province working to see Canada-US softwood lumber agreement’s Maritime Exclusion continue
The province is working closely with the federal government, other Atlantic provinces and the lumber industry to ensure the Maritimes continues to be excluded from U.S. import measures on softwood lumber. The Maritime Exclusion is based on regional Crown stumpage rates honouring fair market prices. Nova Scotia lumber exports to the US were worth $85 million in 2014.
