Aquaculture Barge Sinks in Digby County

Cooke Aquaculture is investigating why one of it’s barges sunk this week in Digby County. Company officials tell the CBC the small barge carrying fish feed was found submerged near one of Cooke’s fish farms off Brier Island on Wednesday. Divers were brought in to plug any potential holes that could have allowed fuel or other liquids to be released. On Thursday the barge was drained and brought to shore.
