The Blue Jays will open the American League Championship series in Cleveland Friday after the Indians beat the Red Sox 4-3 to sweep their series.

In the National league, the Washington beat the Dodgers 8-3 to take a two game to one lead in their divisional series.

On the gridirons, Calgary clobbered Toronto 48-20.  Edmonton was almost as powerful in beating Montreal 40-20.

In Monday night Football, Tampa Bay used a last play field goal to beat Carolina 17-14.
