Cape Breton inquiry

The provincial government wants municipal politicians and officials to make food, liquor and other expenses public since it’s taxpayers’ money.

Municipal Affairs Minister Zach Churchill was referring to the situation with Richmond County Council which is under investigation by RCMP after a damning report by the auditor-general.  Churchill says concerns over the way public funds were handled highlight the need for a more transparent system of posting expenses.
