Addictions funding

Parents with addictions on the Island will be getting more help to maintain family ties, according to the Cape Breton Post.

The Connect Parent program, run by the Family Service of Eastern Nova Scotia, is getting $45,200 from the province to provide early intervention to help parents who are recovering from opiate use reconnect with their children.

The grant announced yesterday is one of several to be awarded across the province during coming weeks, totaling more than $600,000.
