Mi’kmaq Protest Expected During Treaty Day Celebration

Mi’kmaq protesters are expected to demonstrate during Treaty Day Celebrations at the provincial legislature tomorrow. The demonstration is in protest of Alton natural gas storage project. Organizers says the project breaks current treaty obligations between the province and Mi’kmaq. Out of respect for Mi’kmaq being honoured at Province House on Monday protesters say it will be a silent demonstration.
