Salmon Run

Chéticamp River Salmon Association and its partner, Parks Canada, have just completed a three-year restoration project on the Chéticamp River. The river flows almost entirely through Cape Breton Highlands National Park and has one of only two healthy spring salmon runs left in Nova Scotia. The project restored this important freshwater habitat and improved fish passage for Atlantic salmon, a species that is important both ecologically and culturally across Atlantic Canada.
