Nova Scotia Highland Village Society

The Nova Scotia Highland Village Society has handed out scholarships to two young people to enhance their skills.

The Treasures of Youth scholarship fund helps ensure that cultural skills based on Gaelic traditions continue to flourish here.

The winners of the $1,000 scholarship are 11 year old Drea Shephard of Sydney who will be working on her fiddle, piano, Gaelic son and dance skills.  17 year old Oliver Broussard of Port Hawkesbury was honoured for his fiddling and dancing.
