Cape Breton guilty plea

A 25 year old man charged with murder in the death of a Sydney woman whose body was found in a hockey bag in the Mira River has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Morgan MacNeil pleaded guilty yesterday in the death of 21 year old Laura Jessome and was remanded in custody until sentencing November 18th.  Court was told his role in her death was preventing her from leaving the apartment he shared with the man charged with killing her, Thomas Ted Barrett.

There was no indication whether MacNeil will be testifying at his murder trial.
