Cape Breton nominations closed

Nominations have closed for next month’s municipal elections.

It’ll be a two way race for Mayor of Sydney between Cecil Clarke and Rankin MacSween, president of New Dawn Interprises.

A surprise last minute nomination is former MLA Dave Wilson, who spent four months in jail for defrauding taxpayers in expense claims, is running for council in Glace Bay against former councilor Darren Bruckschwaiger and a third candidate, Brian Shaw.
