Cape Breton overdose drug

Several pharmacies in Cape Breton are now stocking an over the counter drug that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

Christine Porter,executive director of the Ally Centre of Cape Breton, told the Cape Breton Post its one of a couple of important steps to prevent deaths from O-Ds. She says Naxalone saves lives. It costs about $70 and is available at Pharmasave locations at the Healthpark in Sydney, in New Waterford and Membertou and other drug stores plan to stock it soon.
