Cape Breton arson case

Two volunteer firefighters spent at least one more night in jail after being charged with a string of arsons in the last four months.

The judge heard submissions on bail for Stephen Tremblett, of North Sydney and James Clayton MacDonald, of Bras d’Or. The release plans are complicated and weren’t finalized so they spent another night behind bars. Both men will have to abide by strict house arrest conditions.

MacDonald is charged with 16 counts of arson and Tremblett with 12.

There were no injuries in any of the fires which were mainly in abandoned buildings.
