New Waterford Kinsmen Club

School’s back next week and there will likely be enough backpacks to go around,but donations are down.

The president of the New Waterford Kinsmen Club told the Cape Breton Post donations of backpacks and school supplies for kids who can’t afford them are down about 50% this year. Angus Gillis figures the economy is to blame. Gillis said Kinsmen ended up donating $250 for the supplies still needed, and he thanked those individuals and businesses that contribute each year.
