Local doctor speaks of physician autonomy at CMA General Council
Nova Scotian doctor David Milne presented at the 149th Canadian Medical Association General Council in Vancouver. He spoke of the loss of physician autonomy, saying as more get told where to practice and what to provide, there are concerns about independence and ability to advocate for patients. The Nova Scotia Health Authority and College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia are increasing doctor oversight, through privileging and procedural credentialing.
