Impaired Driving Arrest

A 33-year-old Bras D’Or man faces an impaired driving charge after being arrested early this morning.

Police say just before 1:30 a.m., they responded to a two-vehicle collision on the 105 Highway in Millville, where a car had rear-ended a truck, causing the truck to lose control and rollover in an embankment. The second vehicle also rolled over in the embankment further down the highway.

As police spoke with the driver of the car, it became clear that he showed signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested and then taken to Cape Breton Regional Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
