DESCRIPTION:** For any programs that require registration\, please call 902 849 8657 as space as limited.** \n  \nThe theme for this year is “Once Upon a Time – Myth & Legends” – They can sign up online at cbrlreads.readsquared.com. or drop by any local library & ask CBRL staff for a paper log if you’re not online. \n  \nFor every 4 books read(3 for teens & adults) earn one entry in the Grand Prize Draw. Some of the Grand Prizes include the following: \n  \n– A gift certificate for a night in an oTENTik at any campground in the CB Highlands National Park (courtesy of Parks Canada) -A gift certificate for one night at the Holiday Inn-Sydney Waterfront (courtesy Holiday Inn) \n– A bicycle \n– Lego Set \n– Board Game Package \n  \nAll reading content counts! We love books; ebooks; audio books; magazines; & comics. You can also read aloud to someone else or have someone read aloud to you \n  \nPeople can look on cbrl.ca/events/ to look at our events with us or any of our local libraries. \n  \nSummer Reading Program 2022 Schedule for the Glace Bay Library (expired events removed): \n  \nMonday August 8th; August 22nd ; August 29th – 6pm – 8pm – Board Game Night Drop In -Bored at home and want something to do on a Monday evening ? Come to the Glace Bay Library to play some Board Games. Everyone is welcome! Try something new or play an old favourite! – no registration required. \n  \nLego Drop In – ages 5-12 – August 3rd; August 17th -Every second Wednesday starting July 6th\, the Glace Bay Library is having a Lego Drop In – come with your imagination & see what you can build. – no registration required \n  \nCrafternoon Fridays Drop In – August 5th; August 19th; ages 5-12 ; 10am – 1pm – no registration required \n  \nBabies & Books Drop In – ages 0-2 – August 10th – 10am – 11am – no registration required. \n  \nTeddy Bear/Plushie Sleepover – August 1st – 630pm-730pm – ages 5-12 – After a little hiatus\, the Glace Bay Library is thrilled to be bringing back one of its all-time favorite programs in our new location. Bring a Teddy Bear/Plushie to the library to do some fun activities\, BUT the plushies get to have a sleepover in the library. You get to pick up your plushies the next day along with a picture of a fun activity your plushies did the night before! – Registration required. \n  \nSummer Film Series – August 3rd; 17th; 31st – all times are 6pm – 8pm – Registration is required. This summer\, the Glace Bay Library will show the complete film trilogy The Librarian over three evenings in August. – Registration required for all 3 films. \nAugust 3rd: The Librarian: Quest for the Spear “To become a librarian\, you must master the Dewey Decimal system. If you are the new librarian Flynn\, you also get to save the world. It’s a fun movie that travels around the world that questions if our new Librarian can also be a hero? (Kanopy).” \n  \nAugust 17th: The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines “Flynn has chosen to protect priceless artifacts where he uncovers King Solomon’s mines before it’s discovered by evil (Kanopy).” \n  \nAugust 31st: The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice “After receiving a stone at an auction\, Flynn decides to take a vacation where he comes in contact with someone who has access to the Judas Chalice. (Kanopy). \n  \nLearn to Camp – August 4th – with Parks Canada – 6pm – Parks Canada educators will lead an all-ages and family-friendly interactive workshop on pitching a tent\, packing a cooler\, and treating wildlife with respect. \nNo registration required. \n  \nPokemon Go – August 9th – 10am – 11am – After almost 3 decades\, Pokemon is still a go! – Come to the Glace Bay Library for Pokemon-themed activities.- Can you catch them all? – Registration required \n  \nHow to Train a Dragon – August 24th – 10am – 11am – ages 5-12 – The Glace Bay Library is thrilled to bring back one of its all-time favourite programs.
