SUMMARY:VCB Ride Isle Madame
DESCRIPTION:(August 18) Velo Cape Breton Bicycle Association (VCB) event\, a big ride on Isle Madame.  If you’ve never ridden on Isle Madame\, here’s your chance to visit the quiet side of the island. Isle Madame awaits you with new pavement\, low traffic\, a scenic route along almost flat roads\, and now a good place to stop for lunch. Choose a 20 km\, 40 km or 60 km route to suite your ability and interest. The ride starts at the end of the bridge (parking available on the right side of the road). Ride through the countryside to D’Escousse: 10 km (20 km return). The route continues around Cap La Ronde\, Rocky Bay and back to D’Escousse for lunch or beer at the new pub\, the Groundswell\, or for an ice cream at the yacht club on the other side of the road — your choice. Route to this point: 30 km; to return to the starting point\, another 10 km\, will make a total distance of 40 km. An optional detour to Arichat will add another 20 km\, for a total distance of 60 km. Join us — ride together for safety and for fun! Ride leader: Micheline Guillot.
