It was the year of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Expo 86 was happening in Vancouver and people watched the wedding of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. On the radio, Lionel Richie and Huey Lewis and The News were in the Top 40 s we said goodbye to the summer of 1986.
Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: SEPTEMBER 21, 1974
8 am – 11 am
It sounded like it could have been a good promotion in 1974. The Cleveland Indians baseball team had a 10-cent beer night. They had to forfeit their game after the alcohol infused violence spread from the stands to the field. The universal product code was used for the first time with Wrigley’s gum being the first product that could be scanned with its barcode. Watergate was all over the news as Richard Nixon was forced to resign. The unmistakable voice of Barry White and First Class were on the air as we headed into the fall of 1974.
