Saturday’s 80’s Countdown: AUGUST 2, 1986
8 am – noon

It was the year of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Expo 86 was happening in Vancouver and people watched the wedding of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. On the radio, Kenny Loggins and Madonna were in the Top 40 in the summer of 86.

 

 

Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: AUGUST 2, 1975
8 am – 11 am

The beaver became an official symbol of Canada. Mirabel airport opened as a second one for Montreal- it didn’t end up doing very well. Debuting on TV was Saturday Night Live, the Fifth Estate and King of Kensington. In the middle of the summer of 1975 we were turning up the radio to the Bee Gees and War.
