This Weekend on Casey Kasem’s Top 40 Countdown

Saturday’s 80’s Countdown: MAY 28, 1988/strong>
8 am – noon

1988 saw Canada host its first ever Winter Olympics in Calgary. Top movies included Rain Man, Beetlejuice and A Fish Called Wanda. On the radio in 1988, Johnny Hates Jazz and Samantha Bee were in Casey’s countdown.

 

 

Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: MAY 24, 1975
8 am – 11 am

The beaver became an official symbol of Canada. Mirabel airport opened as a second one for Montreal- it didn’t end up doing very well. Debuting on TV was Saturday Night Live, the Fifth Estate and King of Kensington. In the late spring of 1975 we were turning up the radio to Ace and the Ozark Mountain Devils.
