A disaster relief organization is sending volunteers from New Brunswick to help clean up homes damaged by last week’s flooding in Cape Breton.
Samaritan’s Purse Canada has sent a disaster relief unit to Sydney and is recruiting more volunteers.
The Christian organization says the team will be equipped with generators, pumps; tools and safety gear.
Hundreds of homes in the Sydney area were damaged Thanksgiving Day after more than 200 millimetres of rain caused mass flooding.
